Did you miss me?

The eve of my 22nd Birthday

Hi, hello. I’m back! And hey, it’s only been one two months since I last posted! Patting myself on the back for that.

Anyway, I’m here on business, we can chit-chat later.

Anyone who knows me knows I love to an event. I took the solar eclipse from an event to an event last April. An event is a lifestyle choice, it is part of romanticizing your life rather than doom-scrolling on your phone. I want to actually live my life, and I hope you do too. Anything can be an event, your daily walk, a trip to the grocery store, or my favorite, a local gathering. I love a good festival or presentation at a local college. These things create community which we so desperately need outside of online spaces. Therefore I’ve decided to add a new column to my failing blog that I don’t keep up with. Title TBD. It will be local events in either Binghamton or New Paltz that have caught my eye and my commentary on them.

Binghamton

First Friday Art Walk

October 4 @ 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

While I have not been to a first Friday in Binghamton I did attend the Broome County Art Trail a few weeks ago and it was so worth it. More details to come on that experience. Bottom line: who doesn’t love free art?

BOOK SALE hosted by Friends of the Vestal Public Library

October 10 @ 9:00 am – 8:00 pm

Who doesn’t love a book sale? Even better, one through a library with a super cheap price! Local libraries are the bomb and everyone should be a member of theirs.

New Paltz

Applestock

October 5th 10am-4pm

May be an image of 6 people, apple and text that says 'PIES MUSIC * FOOD* VENDORS FRITTERS * RAFFLE BEER/WINE/CIDER TENT* TWICE BLESSED EXTENDED HOURS REFORMED CИBcи OF NEW PALTZ APPLESTOCK HUGUENOT STREET Saturday, October 5th// 10:00am -4:00pm Please follow this QR code to learn more. Afternoon Delight 12:30pm Featuring performances by: Sarah Stamberg 1:30pm Big Blue Big Band 2:30 om Follow this QR code to pre-order your pies!'

Hosted by my local church, The Reformed Church of New Paltz, Applestock is always a good time. The fritters are delicious, the music is great, and you are in good company on Huguenot Street.

Saturday Special: Teatime!

October 5 @ 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

This free event in Kingston at the Senate House is educational and has free tea!! What more can you ask for? Steal the tea back from the British!

Those are all the events I’ve rounded up so far, but be on the lookout because there’s much more to come. Links are down below. And here is my song of the week:
